Sexual violence women face in public transportation has been on the rise in recent years. In 2011, the youth arm of FPA Sri Lanka took an initiative to reduce

violence in buses by introducing the concept "Speak Out and Ring the Bell", encouraging passengers who experience or witness violence to take action immediately. With the support of Sri Lanka Police Department, we displayed a sticker in buses with a direct telephone number to the branch of Police Department working to minimize sexual violence.
