The COVID-19 pandemic has a disproportionate impact on specific populations or marginalized groups, people who are already in positions of vulnerability such as persons with disabilities and LGBTQIA+ persons. FPASL procured and assembled 3420 Hygiene Kits, which are customized according to the needs of these target populations and will be distributed through the GFATM Project; sub recipients and DPOs.

UNFPA Sri Lanka works with The Family Planning Association of Sri Lanka for implementing Minimum Initial Service Package (MISP) for Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) in Emergencies.  This provides tremendous support for ensuring SRH needs of communities in both preparedness and response phases. The above was carried out under the 1st phase of ‘preparedness’ activity. Preparedness enables security and eases the anxieties of vulnerable populations in emergencies. It provides an environment for people to live with dignity and respect during any emergency.
