REVIVING THE SPIRIT OF VOLUNTEERISM: INFUSE | INSPIRE | INVIGORATE

The International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) is a volunteer led movement. The dedicated commitment of volunteers is the base on which IPPF was founded. This continues to be a major source of the Federation's strength and influence. The volunteers of IPPF play a critical role in furthering the cause of "Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights for all".

A volunteer, in IPPF, shares the Federation's mission, vision and values and offers time, knowledge, skills and experience to further the objectives of the Federation. Volunteers do so with the aim of making a difference in the community and improving the sexual and reproductive health and well being of the people, especially the poor, marginalized, socially excluded and underserved.

IPPF has a diverse range of volunteers from different backgrounds. They contribute to the work of the Federation in different roles such as fundraiser, service provider, donor, community distributor, peer educator, or advocate with the community, peers, organizations and people of influence at all levels. By doing so, the volunteers gain experience and inspiration from the Federation for their own lives thereby making the relationship mutually beneficial.

IPPF is celebrating volunteerism and looking at contributions made by volunteers over the past 60 years. In order to meet the challenges of the changing world, and remain relevant and be responsive, the Federation is identifying newer paradigms of volunteerism by:

• Attracting and engaging men, women and young people, who subscribe to the mission and core values of IPPF;
• Providing existing and potential volunteers with opportunities, information and orientation to use their skills and make a contribution to the cause.

TO FURTHER THE CAUSE OF SRHR THE VOLUNTEERS OF THE IPPF, SOUTH ASIA REGION HEREBY

Acknowledge that sexual and reproductive health and rights are an integral part of every human life, and therefore an enabling environment must be ensured.

Commit to sexual and reproductive rights as human rights and that non-discrimination underlines protection and promotion of all human rights irrespective of gender and sexual identities.

Ensure that sexual and reproductive rights for all include a commitment to individual respect, freedom and protection from harm.

WE ALL AT IPPF, SOUTH ASIA REGION HEREBY PLEDGE THAT, WE WILL

• UNITE to garner greater momentum in creating a movement ensuring sexual and reproductive rights for all.
• DELIVER to improve access of SRH services for all to reduce unmet needs in South Asia.
• PERFORM by facilitating and strengthening the Federation by making it more relevant and accountable.
