On 4โ€“5th September, FPA Sri Lanka successfully conducted the IPPF SPRINT Project Simulation Exercise at the Sri Lanka Army Centre for Disaster Response Training (SLACDRT), Gampola, bringing together 25 government stakeholders from the Kandy District to strengthen preparedness for humanitarian emergencies.
The two-day simulation provided participants with a practical opportunity to apply the Minimum Initial Service Package (MISP) for Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) in realistic emergency scenarios, while enhancing coordination, decision-making, referral pathways, and inter-agency collaboration.
The success of this exercise was made possible through the invaluable leadership and support of Dr. Ruchitha Perera Executive Director of FPA Sri Lanka, whose participation underscored the organization's commitment to strengthening emergency SRH preparedness.
We also extend our sincere appreciation to Colonel W. M. Samantha, Commandant of SLACDRT, Gampola, for the generous support and collaboration that contributed significantly to the successful implementation of the exercise and to Mr. Sandun Adikari Head of Service Delivery (Outreach), FPA Sri Lanka, for his dedicated guidance and coordination throughout the programme.
Together, through strong partnerships and shared commitment, we continue to build a more resilient and inclusive emergency response system that ensures lifesaving sexual and reproductive health services remain accessible when communities need them most.
