Humanitarian Assistance though Implementation of Minimum Initial Service Package in flood-affected districts of Ratnapura, Kalutara, Galle, Matara, Kegalle and Hambantota 

Due to the heavy rains that eventually caused floods, approximately 200,382 people from 52,603 families were affected in 14 districts.

Activities

• Prevention and management of the consequences of sexual violence–Numerous awareness activities on GBV prevention targeting children, adolescents and women were carried out in flood affected areas as well as psycho-social support programmes.
• Management & transmission of HIV & STIs - Awareness sessions were carried out for communities on need for being on treatment if already being prescribed for HIV/STIs and how to prevent transmission of those.
• Reproductive Health Clinics were conducted for affected people in 17 camp sites targeting HIV/STI prevention. (It was held in collaboration with the General Health Clinic established by Government which comprises all SRH services.
• Prevention of excess maternal and neonatal mortality and morbidity –Awareness sessions were carried out for communities on Maternal, Newborn and Child Health and Family Planning services.
• Distribution of Dignity and Maternity Kits
