The Post 2015 outcome document named as TRANSFORMING OUR WORLD: THE 2030 AGENDA FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT was adopted on the 2nd of August by 193 countries. This draft document of 17 goals will drive the global agenda on social, economic and environmental development and sustainability for the next 15 years and will be formally adopted by Member States at the United Nations Sustainable Development Summit in September 2015. If approved, implementation of this agenda will begin on 1st January 2016.
The proposed new SDG’s that were built on the 8 Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), which expire this year, are in place to finish the job of the MDGs, and ‘leave no one behind’. They will determine the global course of action to end poverty, promote prosperity and well-being for all, protect the environment and address climate change.
