We are excited to announce the opening of our new Service Delivery Point in Puttalam! After an extensive gap analysis and needs assessment conducted by our Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Unit, Puttalam emerged as the ideal location for this important initiative.
The strategic decision to open this new facility aims to provide essential reproductive health services to a wide range of villages and communities within its expansive catchment area. By addressing specific healthcare challenges effectively and inclusively, we hope to make a significant impact on the overall well-being of the residents.
We appreciate the support of UNFPA Sri Lanka and the People of Japan in making this service centre a reality.
Gracing this special occasion was, FPA’s President of the Board of Directors, Ms. Aruni Marcelline, Vice President, Ms. Kusum De Silva, Executive Director, Dr. Ruchitha Perera, Senior Management Team members, Dr. Nuzrath Nasoordeen - Director Medical and Head of Outreach Mr. Rajapakse, FPA Head Office and project staff and special invitee Dr. Dayanath Ranatunga, Assistant Representative of UNFPA Sri Lanka.
We were honoured to also have local community leaders and members join us for the inauguration, showcasing the strong community support and enthusiasm for improved healthcare services. Special thanks to the Puttalam District Secretary, the Puttalam Divisional Secretary, the Puttalam Senior Superintendent of Police, Deputy RHDS, MOH representatives, the Municipal Council secretary and the NGO district coordinator who were in attendance.
