Today marks a significant day in the Galle District as we reach the milestone of distributing 400 Maternity Kits across eight MOH areas, including Rathgama, Balapitiya, Karandeniya, Ambalangoda, Elpitiya, Welivitiya-Divithura, Induruwa, and Hikkaduwa.

Each pregnancy journey is distinct, and delivering respectful, high-quality maternity care to every woman is essential. Our maternity kits are packed with crucial hygiene and sanitary items, handpicked to meet the unique needs of expecting mothers.

We also held vital awareness sessions at each location on maternal health and pregnancy risk factors, which is particularly important for our younger pregnant mothers, some of whom are under 16, as well as for a mother with disabilities. The main goals of the sessions were to highlight the importance of regular medical check-ups and to stress the role of proper nutrition during pregnancy.
