The first meeting convened at FPA Head Office on the 28th of May 2024, brought together esteemed healthcare professionals and sexual and reproductive health experts to chart the course ahead. Chaired by Professor Emeritus of Demography Indralal de Silva, it included representatives from the FPA: Dr. Ruchitha Perera (Executive Director), Suchira Suranga (Director - Organization Learning and Evaluation), Suhail Junaid (Director – Marketing), and Dr. Nuzrath Nasoordeen (Director – Medical).
Participating organizations included the National STD/AIDS Control Programme (NSACP), Family Health Bureau, Centre for Evaluation, Sri Lanka Medical Association, University of Jayawardanapura, Population Association of Sri Lanka, University of Colombo, Menopause Society of Sri Lanka, and the National Institute of Education.
The discussions covered conference proceedings, plenary session formats, and the abstract screening and review process.
ReproSex 2024, is scheduled for November 5th and 6th at the BMICH, and aims to be a landmark event in sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) in Sri Lanka.
