FPA recently took part in the 5-day 'Sexual Reproductive Health & Rights' (SRHR) Master Trainers Programme, organized by UNFPA Sri Lanka and ADT Sri Lanka. Thirty participants gained valuable knowledge and skills to advocate for SRHR in their communities.
The sessions covered important topics like understanding consent, addressing stigma around contraceptives, promoting comprehensive sexuality education, and supporting the rights of all, especially marginalized groups. The training was interactive, allowing for active participation and discussion.
This training aimed to develop a group of young SRHR trainers in Sri Lanka. One participant shared, "The programme wasn't just a typical ToT. It provided practical skills for us to use as trainers on the ground."
From FPA Sri Lanka, Ms. Saymini Perera (Past Youth Services Committee Chairperson), Ms. Geilee Skandakumar (Hon. Assistant Treasurer), Mr. Theekshana Ruchiran (Youth Member), and Dr. Rashmira Balasuriya, a consultant for FPA’s CAAPP Project, attended the training.
