FPA’s Batticaloa Service Delivery Point conducted an awareness programme at the Thevapuram Health Centre, Kiran, on sexual and reproductive health-related topics. In attendance were women, pregnant mothers, community leaders and youth.

Women of reproductive age can make choices about their health and health care that help to keep themselves healthy, and if they choose to be pregnant, have a healthy baby. Adopting healthy behaviours is the first step women can take to prepare for the healthiest pregnancy possible.

Knowledge was shared on available contraceptive methods, enabling individuals to make informed decisions and use contraception more effectively.

The session helped identify reproductive health care needs, including contraceptive services, pregnancy testing, and counselling to help become pregnant or manage pregnancy with prenatal and delivery care.
