The IPPF (South Asia region) Regional Council Meeting was held on the 30th & 31st March in Bangkok. The meeting was organised by IPPF SAR in collaboration with The Planned Parenthood Association of Thailand. 

Mr Chandima Gunawardena (President) represented FPA Sri Lanka at this event.  The meeting commenced with welcome addresses delivered by Dr Safieh Shahriari, Chairperson, Regional Council, IPPF SAR, Ms Anjali Sen, Regional Director, IPPF- SAR and Mr Tewodros Melesse, IPPF Director General.

Other Member Associations that participated were FHA (Iran), FPAI (India), Society for Health Education (SHE Maldives), FPAN (Nepal) Respect, Educate, Nurture, Empower Women (RENEW, Bhutan) and Rahnuma (Pakistan). 

At the conclusion of the Regional Executive Committee Meeting of the International Planned Parenthood Federation South Asia Region a farewell ceremony together with the awarding of a certificate to Ms Anjali Sen, outgoing IPPF South Asia Regional Director took place. Mr Varun Anand was appointed acting Regional Director and we convey our congratulations on his new appointment.
