FPA Sri Lanka opened its newest center in Killinochchi on 04thMarch 2014, expanding its services to the Northern Province after a lapse of one year. The Center was declared open by the Minister of Health, Northern Province, Dr. P. Sathiyalingam, along with the President and members of FPA Sri Lanka’s Technical Advisory Committees.
The opening was significant as it coincided with International Women’s Day dedicated to celebrate women from all walks of life.
FPA Sri Lanka distributed over 400 packs of dry rations to war widows and single mothers in the Puthukkudiyiruppu, Mullativu and Jaffna districts, with the support of the Sri Lanka Army and the Puthukkudiyiruppu Police Station.
Through this center, FPA Sri Lanka aims to provide health related services to the hard to reach communities in the province working together with the Ministry of Health.
