The Sub-Recipients Coordination Meeting within the Multi-Country South Asia HIV grant funded by the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB and Malaria was held from the 22nd – 23rd of September 2016 in Bangkok, Thailand. The meeting focused on the close out and transitioning activities plan for the sub-recipients within the Programme. UNDP is phasing out as the Principal Recipient and Save the Children, is the new Principal Recipient of the MSA grant for the upcoming year.
Representing FPA Sri Lanka was Ms Madusha Dissanayake (Director Public Affairs, Policy and Advocacy ), Mr Saman Perera ( Deputy Director Finance) and Mr Duminda Rajakaruna ( Assistant Director M & E Unit ).
Other Sub recipients countries represented were Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, Pakistan and Thailand.
Some of the key topics in focus were;
Human rights and advocacy –discussion of the recent progress on human rights and advocacy, what can be done between now and the end of 2016, and what needs to continue in 2017.
HIV Epidemiology among MSM and Transgender people in South Asia - This session aimed to familiarize the participants with HIV and human rights situation among the MSM and Transgender people in South Asia

The two day event concluded with brief presentations being made by each SR about their programs including achievements and key issues and Save the Children and sub-recipients discussion of the Performance Framework and the Budgets for 2017.
