The Koggala Suwa Sewa Centre, which is under the purview of the Outreach Unit carried out a few programmes during the month of March. Here are the highlights.
15th March - FPA Sri Lanka President Dr Pramilla Senanayake, Executive Director Ms Thushara Agus and Former Director of Governance Ms Kusum De Silva visited the Centre and were involved in discussions with the youth clients of the clinic.
16th and 19th of March – Mobile clinics were carried out at Dorape Temple (Imaduwa MOH area) and at Meegahagoda. (Habaraduwa MOH area). Contraceptive services, medical screenings, counselling services and testing services are offered at Mobile Clinics run by FPA Sri Lanka which enables access to a wide range SRH services to those living in rural areas of the island.
26th March - A counselling programme was carried out by the Vocational Training Authority for the volunteers attached to the centre. Training volunteers is an ongoing activity at FPA Sri Lanka. Such capacity building programmes focus on areas of communication, leadership and SRH Knowledge.
