The IPPF (South Asia region) Regional Council Meeting was held from the 26th - 27th of August in Tehran, Iran. Mr Chandima Gunawardena (President) and Ms Thushara Agus (Executive Director) represented FPA Sri Lanka at this event and Mr Gunwaradena was unanimously appointed as a Regional Executive Council Member. The meeting commenced with welcome addresses delivered by Ms Sujatha Natarajan, Chairperson, Regional Council, IPPF SAR and Ms Anjali Sen, Regional Director, IPPF- SAR.

Other Member Associations that participated were FHA (Iran), FPAI (India), The Afghan Family Guidance Association (AFGA), Society for Health Education (SHE Maldives), FPAN (Nepal) Respect, Educate, Nurture, Empower Women (RENEW, Bhutan) and Rahnuma (Pakistan).
