The national HIV/AIDS control strategies includes the expanding of service outreach so that more people can access testing. This was further facilitated after the introduction of HIV rapid testing and the finalization of national testing guidelines.
As a key player of the national HIV control efforts, FPA Sri Lanka, with the support of the National STD AIDS Control Programme (NSACP) trained the first batch of community members who would carry out community based rapid testing through the Dropping In Centres (DIC) established in three different locations in the Colombo District. FPA Sri Lanka intends to introduce more DICs in the urban hubs in time to come. This programme was held on the 8th and 9th of March at our Headquarters in Colombo 7.
