FPA Sri Lanka SUWA SEVA center of the Ampara district organized an Advocacy programme on the 12th of May. Participants included 40 senior Government officials and representatives from several NGOs and garment factories. This event was headed by the President of FPA Sri Lanka, Dr Pramilla Senanayaka and the Regional Director of the Health Services of Ampara, Dr. Thalagala. A presentation was made on the variety of SRH Services on offer and the healthcare facilities available at the center.
FPA Sri Lanka’s President Dr. Pramilla Senanayake, Dr Esther Amarasekera (Member National Council) and Mr. Suhail Junaid (Director Marketing) visited Daya Apprarels in Ampara on a special monitoring visit, upon a request made by Hon. Mrs. Anoma Gamage (Deputy Minister of Agriculture), who is also the Managing Director of the Daya Group of Companies. The visit was aimed to explore the possibility of further expanding SRH services to the garment sector in order to facilitate an improved quality of life among its employees. This company has 3000 employees in factories located in the Ampara and Monaragala districts. It was noted that despite being from diverse backgrounds and religions, the workforce enjoys a harmonious working environment.
