The SRH essentials course was aimed specifically at healthcare providers. It provided interactive learning with scenario-based learning, presentations, group work and a time for discussion and questions.

At the end of the workshop, participants were able to:

• Develop the skills and confidence to talk with patients about their sexual and reproductive healthcare needs

• Have a thorough knowledge of contraceptive methods

• Have an understanding and knowledge of antenatal and postnatal care

• Gain knowledge and skills in the prevention, control and treatment of sexually transmitted infections (including HIV /AIDS)
