FPA Sri Lanka was invited to conduct medical camps at two events in the month of May. One was organised by a Media Coalition and SRH services were provided to 83 media personnel representing 31 organisations and the other by the Department of Social services where 45 differently abled persons, who were special invitees to a programme organised by the Department of Social Services received medical and SRH services.
This was carried out under the purview of the Outreach Unit’s LILI project. The Light to Life Project - commonly known as LILI project - was initially implemented in 2012 to address the sexual and reproductive health (SRH) issues faced by differently abled soldiers - those injured during the internal conflict and has now branched out to serve the retired armed service personnel and the disabled community at large which is one of the most vulnerable groups in our Society.
